Insights on Difference between Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have a rapidly growing presence in today’s world, with applications ranging from heavy industry to education. From streamlining operations to informing better decision making, it has become clear that this technology has the potential to truly revolutionize how the everyday world works.
AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning are attracting more traction lately because of the recent innovations that have made headlines, Alexa, Siri, Humanoids, Chatbots, Robotics are some to name a few. The varied applicability of AI in a multitude of industries including entertainment, transportation, finance, retail etc. makes this technology a hot job and career destination.
While people often use these terms interchangeably, We think below is a good conceptual depiction to differentiate these 3 terms. AI is really a broad term and somewhat this also causes every company to claim their product has AI these days. Then ML is a subset of AI, and consists of the more advanced techniques and models that enable computers to figure things out from the data and deliver AI applications. ML is the science of getting computers to act without being explicitly programmed (Stanford University).
Finally, DL is a newer area of ML that that uses multi-layered artificial neural networks to deliver high accuracy in tasks such as object detection, speech recognition, language translation and other recent breakthroughs that you hear in the news. Beauty and strength of DL is they can automatically learn/extract/translate the features from data sets such as images, video or text, without introducing traditional hand-coded code or rules. Impressive!
According to Analytics Insight, experts predict that AI alone will generate close to 2.3 million jobs by 2020. However, additionally, it is predicted that this technology will take away over 1.7 million jobs, leading to a net addition of half a million new jobs worldwide.
Get on the path to an exciting, evolving career that is predicted to grow sharply into 2025 and beyond. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will impact all segments of daily life by 2025, with applications in a wide range of industries such as healthcare, transportation, retail, insurance, transport and logistics and customer service.
Indian Institutes of Managements' such as IIM Kozhikode has developed one Executive Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning that will help aspirants to become an expert in the exciting new world of AI & ML by learning through cutting edge technologies and work on real-life industry grade projects.
